    Archaic Distribution Recommendation

I've been running Mint 7 on my new machine for a while, and it's been really good to me, but I get bored easily. I've always been interested in older technology, and have recently obtained and restored a 12-year-old laptop. It currently has Windows 98 on it, but I want to switch it up a bit with some open-source action. I've already tried a few distributions of Linux, but they halt upon installing (I've even left it brewing for a few hours, just to be sure). This all brings me to the ultimate question; where can I get an old, old distro of Linux/Ubuntu/Whatever that will run on this old laptop?

    Here are the specs:

    Model: Acer Extensa 700/710 Series
    CPU: Pentium(r) II Processor
    Memory: 96.0 MB RAM

    Hope you can help,
    Dan.

There are some Distros made especially for low spec systems. Puppy Linux, Damn Small Linux, ...
Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.

Puppy Linux increased their system requirements from 64Mb to 128Mb - but you can still use an old version. See their website for information.

Also check our DeLi Linux and Slitaz Linux.
