Wink how to check downloads with md5

I'm thinking of downloading Slackware to install on my desktop (when it's new PSU arrives), and noticed that on the Slackware website, you cannot download the ISOs, but just the md5, asc, and txt files. They point people to torrents to download the ISOs.

I'm sure it's overkill, but my curiosity has me wondering: when I get the ISOs, how can I use those files to verify that it's untampered with??

    thanks!!

You can check this HowTo for info about properly downloading and burning ISO files to disk:

ISO files and md5 checksum files for various versions of Slackware can be found here:
