Setting up Users.
Just a question about somethng that has been confusing me. I had made anothe rpost about learning to use the CLI to accomplish certain things within Linux. I am using Ubuntu, and people recommended I stick with that til I get familiar. The recurring themes was this:
Do NOTHING in the root user mode. LOL
Very sound advice from what I have read. But when I go into Ubuntu to add a user the first time, there are already two users: /root, and then another user which is the name I set everything up on. Can anyone familiar with Ubuntu tell me if it is safe to work in the second one I mentioned? Thanks for any help you all can offer.

You can use any account you like, just try to avoid using the root account and never ever login to the Desktop as root, It's just foolishness on a grand scale. Ubuntu uses sudo anyway so there no big deal really. Just make sure that which ever account that you login with has sudo privileges by adding that user to the sudo group.
Pay particular attention to #4 and #5.
