    Will a bit of software that requires X-Windows (XFree86 3.3.5 or later)

    Work with X-Org?

    Specifically, I am thinking of treating myself to this.

    Bit of a newbie question but that's the peril of the student and the teacher being the same person

    XOrg is one implementation of XWindow, similar to how Firefox is one implementation of an HTML browser.

    XOrg is also a direct relative to XFree (another implementation), as it was forked of from it.

    So my guess is that is does.
    I would be more concerned about "Graphics card must support Shader 3.0".

    Shader 3.0 shouldn't be a problem - this card handled the Windows version
