trouble w/USB headset Stereo
hey all, i have a Gigaware USB headset from radioshack. this unit did not plug-and-play, but after some initial research, i removed pulseaudio (via "sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio--purge" and setting "asoundconf" to "default" (which is the USB headset's label in "asoundconf"), so now it works, but only the right channel, not in stereo (there is no sound from the left earphone, which i know is okay b/c i've heard sound from the USB startup when plugging in the headphones, and what goes through the right channel is not stereo, which i tested via a mpeg that is left-channel only. so i know the left earphone is functional, but not playing the left channel signal, and the right channel is functioning as only the right channel, not a stereo mix).
under "system" and "sounds", my sound settings are all listed as "ALSA", except for "Device" which is "C-Media USB Headphone Set (alsamixer)".
any ideas to make this beeatch play in stereo?
oh and i'm running ubuntu...
thanks from a newbie!
