You need to install the appropriate language pack. You might also have to add the necessary fonts to your X server and desktop. For example, I have the Tamil language pack installed in Firefox and these two packages in the operating system (I'm running KDE): fonts-tamil.noarch, kde-i18n-Tamil.noarch
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!

I have Japanese fonts on my system by default- But I don't Japanese

I have them because I like to see a language in its native form (and not some Unicode icon for un-decoded characters). And no, I don't know Tamil, nor Japanese, nor Chinese, etc. I do know some western romance languages such as French, Spanish, and Italian as well as a very little German.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
