Seeling a Really Simple Linux OS

Looking for a user friendly Linux OS

Use my computer for music (Rhythmbox), surfing (Swiftfox), arranging (Musescore), Photos, and occasional Word Processing (Open Office).

Do not game, but would like reasonable speed. Also plan to put anti-viral and firewall on this system.

Have PC with 1.4 GHz Athlon and 320G hard drive with Windows XP partition.

Have about 12 - 14k music files as mostly MP3 and Ogg Vorbis.

    Reasonably computer literate with Windows.

    Suggestions appreciated.

Took the quiz here and ended up with Linux Mint, Mandriva, Ubuntu, and OpenSuSe.

    Thanks,
    Dick

The quiz came up with what will probably be the most popular suggestions. Any major distribution will probably do you fine for what you want to do. Try them out and if you have any trouble, post on here and we'll do our best to help you out.

As posts about "which distribution?" almost always end up as just a never-ending string of everyone's personal favorite, I'm going to go ahead and close this one. Have fun playing around with whatever Linux you choose.
