Total Linux novices seeks help with CnM Minibook

I am a techie but a TOTAL linux novice. I am trying to get the CnM Minibook to run flash player websites, in particular Club Penguin. I have downloaded a command line program to run and I have found out some basic commands but I do not have a clue where to begin. Can anybody help? I do not know what version of Linux it is but the browser is Bon Echo.

    Many thanks.

From what I can find, the CnM minibook uses a MIPS processor. Adobe does not support this CPU architecture, so you will not be able to run their flash player on this machine.

According to the CnM website, they include something called the Xip Flash Player. I hadn't heard of this one before, but it looks like it simply isn't compatible with anything that requires >Flash 6.

You will in general have a very limited amount of extra software to choose from for this netbook. This site has a few programs built for it:
    Little Linux Laptop

Basically, this little netbook is awful if you want to do anything more than check email.

Thanks, I would not have let him get it if he had asked but he didn't. The Flash player that comes with it only plays flash files not flash on a website.

I guess from what you say it would not even be worth putting a different version of Linux on.

Depends on how much work you want to put into it. Doesn't look the easiest thing in the world to do.

There is a distro created just for these laptops, called 3MX. You can find it on the little linux laptop link I posted above.

Your options are somewhat limited. There aren't a lot of MIPS ports for linux distros. Debian has one, but I don't know what would be involved to actually get it installed.
