    Unhappy compiz

    hello

ive just installed compiz on kubuntu 9.10.

However I don't understand anything of it. How do I set the looks of my system? How can i chance menu color, window egdes color, taskbar color.

And how do i get those transparent screens.

What ive found out so far:

when i want to change the window color i can do it at color settings
when i want to change screen edges i can use the emerald theme manager
when i want to change the taskbar i can do it at desktop settings

However the 1st and 3rd things are standard in kubuntu, and have nothing to do with compiz. So there must be a way to let compiz do this?

    im so confused right now

you need to use compiz config settings manager, i believe the package is called ccsm on ubuntu, install it and you will get an application that lets you config it, should show up in the menu somewhere, but you should be able to run in terminal with ccsm command

Yes but I still don't know how to get it. When I check the opacify box it still isn't transparent.

I have checked the opacy plugin.

And I have another issue: When I am in compiz and want to minimize in the taskbar it won't. I can only maximize by clicking at the program in the taskbar, not mimize.

checking the plugin only enables it, you might have to adjust settings for the plugin to do what you want

I'm confused about what you are trying to do with minimizing, do you mean right click and minimize, or left click once to maximize, then left click it again to minimize? i think there is a minimize plugin for compiz, can't remember though
