    Command line and Internet connection

Hello every one, I'm new in Linux just some days and I'm using mandriva 2010.0 on
a laptop fujitsu simens 75gb amilo Intel CPU , and To acess the internet I use a dlink USB pen (dwa140) to detect the wireless and connect, but I must instal a Linux driver(that I have) I followed the steps in the tutorial how to instal from source and the unizip goes good, I take the file in the arc directory but wen I wenter the "./configue" I just have a mesage saying unknown command, and I can't go forward,
do I have to type something more? That I'm
missing?BTW commands like "Is" don't go also I think that there's something I'm not doing good, but I don't know what

Without want to push I have another question
wen I connect a cable from my rooter or the modem it detects a connection thru the "eth0 " with the ip DNS and gateway, but if I go with one program like firefox to the Internet it shows me that we can't connect, I've looked in the firewall the proxys, tried to
uninstal and instal again the connections In the mcc but it still doesent work

    thx for yr time
    regards

    Hi and Welcome !

You must navigate to the folder having configure file. Execute ls command to list all files in folder.

I would suggest you to check linuxcommand.org.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
