    Hi and Welcome !

    Are you using RedHat 9?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

RH9 is an obsolete distribution. Is there any specific reason for using such an old version?

RH9 doesn't support NTFS partitions. I am sure about write access but don't know if it support read access or not.

Post the output of uname -a command here.
    Code:
    uname -a

As DC said, RH9 is really ancient, in internet years. You might be able to install a read-only ntfs driver for that system (depending upon the kernel you are using), but I doubt you will find one that provides write access. You need the ntfs-3g driver to do that and I think (not 100% certain) that only works with 2.6 kernels - you are probably using a 2.4 kernel. If, on the other hand, you are running Fedora 9 (a totally different kettle of fish from RH9), then you should be able to install the 3g driver with the yum package manager.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
