I used the Fedora LiveUSB creator to put Fedora 12's LiveCD onto my usb stick. I booted and installed from that.
Or you could use an external CD/DVD-ROM.
If you've got the SSD version of the Eee PC, then you have a storage space problem 'cos your system disk is 4GB. Do a minimal install (whatever distro you choose) and add the packages you want afterwards.Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/

Hi!
Since you specifically asked about an eee PC, maybe you want to check out these: DebianEeePC and
eeebuntu.
I only know of their existence though, so I can't recommend either one.
