Question What distro for IBM Thinkstation Lenovo MT M 8805

I'd like a distribution with KDE.

I've tried Kubuntu, but I don't get any higher screen resolution than 640*480. The graphics adapter that seems to get me in trouble is an Intel based one.

I'm open to other OS'es that uses KDE -I just need to be able to use Kdenlive.

    Hello,

Canonical doesn’t support Kubuntu like they do with Ubuntu. My suggestion is to try Mandriva, Sabayon or OpenSuse. If you are looking for KDE4 distro.

Or Mepis 8.5 for a Debian based KDE Distro. Just went Gold today.

I've tried PClinux and found it to be quite good also. Likewise with Fedora 12 (KDE).

    Welcome to the forums!

You could also consider installing a distribution such as Arch, Debian, or Gentoo. They will allow you to do a minimal base install, then you install on top of that only those applications that you want/need, including KDE.

    Hello and Welcome!

In addition to ozar's suggestions, you can also install CRUX or Slackware to go minimum and build it up.
But if KDE is your only major requirement, just about any mainstream distro out there can have KDE installed after the fact.
