Which linux OS should i take?

    Dear Linux users,

I've got an assignment on which i have to use another OS instead of Windows.
So i'm going to choose Linux because it seems good to me.
I've got to use the Linux pc in a Windows (Network) environment so I really dont know which to take.
Now all I want to know is, which Linux OS should I take?
    - Ubuntu
    - Suse
    ... etc?

Which one would be the best to start off with for me?

    Greetings,

    Teun

As GNU-Fan has illustrated, everyone has their favorite. There's really no possible way for anyone to know which distribution will work best in your individual situation. Please take a look at the links in our welcome thread for some tools that will help you make the decision. In the end, most of us found our distro of choice simply by trying several and seeing what grabbed us. Best of luck finding the one that works for you.
