Use Windows default font instead of Linux's

    Hi guys,

This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering if you can use Windows font as the default font instead of Linux's. For example, when I open up Firefox, and go to Yahoo.com or any other website for that matter, I get Linux's font.

I want the font to be as if I was using Firefox on a Windows computer.

How do I go about doing that?

    Thank you.

    Welcome to the forums!

Yes, you can install the ttf-ms-fonts package:

How do I tell Linux to use these fonts, or is it automatic?

It's best to install them with your default package tool if possible. Once they are properly installed, you can choose fonts in applications (such as Firefox for example), and you can configure your desktop environment to use them. In Gnome, it would be System > Preferences > Appearance > Fonts. There's a similar setting in KDE and Xfce4 if you are using one of those.
