    Hi!

This is just a hunch but would you like to reboot your system and try to click them again if it still would not work?

EDIT: By the way, double ciick on it at the Systems or Applications group and not at the software center please.

Like nujinini says, Sometimes you need to logout or reboot before a software application install will take sometimes. Not always, But sometimes.

Also. If you open a terminal. And type in the application name that you installed. Let say firefox. You type in firefox into terminal. If it fails to open. You will get the error messeges in terminal on telling you what was missing on why it would not start up.

You can post those error messages in a post and forum members can tell you why that certaain application won't start.

Which version of Ubuntu are you using?

Have you tried Synaptic Package Manager?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I'd recommend installing software using Synaptic when possible because it will pull in any dependencies that a package needs, and it will simplify the software installation and removal procedure.

You can check this HowTo for instructions on using Synaptic:

Who are you asking, the original poster or one of the repliers? Please include a quote if the point is unclear. Took me a few readsa to figure what you were asking. But don't stop posting, just be more clear.

    Thanks, Tom
