    Different Distro on a Server

Hi, just wanna ask some newbie questions. I am definitely new to Linux, and i need help before i start to choose what distro will fit for me.
My question is, is it okay (for example) if i have an Ubuntu desktop and i will connect it to a Red Hat PC Server. Will it do? or should i have to have a same distro for both Desktop and Server.

    It will do.
It does not matter how different the operating systems are, as long as both speak the same language. This is why standards are so import. But Free and OpenSource Operating Systems usually do very well in adhering to standards, so there are very, very little to no problems to be expected.
