[SOLVED] added HDD, server fails to restart

    Hi guys,
I have a issue that could get me fired, so I would appreciate your input.
My knowledge about linux is limited

The company I work for has a Dell Poweredge 6850 that keeps pretty much everything (databases, websites, etc).
The server had a Virtual Drive created from 2 Physical Drives.
Since the HDD space was getting low, we got a new drive, inserted it, formatted and rebooted the system.
But the system now refuses to start, giving an FAILED message, something related to EXT2 partition that cannot be read at /dev/hda1

It's unlikely that it would have let you move the drive identifiers around, but it could be possible that what used to be /dev/hda1 is now replaced by your new hard disk.

What happens if you disconnect this new drive and reboot? Does the system return to normal? If not, is there any chance you could have cleared and rebooted the wrong drive?

What distribution are you running here?
