linux terminal wanted
Hello,
I am having one Laptop. In that i am facing some error while installing linux OS. so i planned to install only terminal in my laptop. i dont want any gnome and etc.. simply i am going to use only c programming in my terminal. gcc compiler and shell to work "c" is enough for me. so can anyone please help me to work in terminal and c programming.Thanks in advance...

Pretty much every distro has a console for working with the command line. Is that what you need, or are you saying you need a terminal application like Gnome Terminal or KDE Konsole?

simple. I want to work c program in gcc compiler. for that i have to install linux. but i am having some problem with harddisk and CDROM. CDROM is not working properly.i mean it is not reading a data for long time.

Most distributions have a text console only installation mode. You still need some way to install it. If you don't have a floppy and don't have a functional CD/DVD player, then you will need to install from a USB drive, which can be done easily enough - even from a USB thumb drive.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
