    Are you sure you need it? Most Linux distributions have PDF readers pre-installed. What version of Linux are you using and what version of Adobe Reader are you trying to install?

    Hello and welcome!

    If you are using Gnome, you'll find that Evince works well and it's lighter than Adobe Reader. For KDE you can use Okular, but like techieMoe has already pointed out, most distros include a PDF reader by default. If possible, try to use the default package tool for your distribution to install any PDF reader that you might choose.

    Better advice can be given if you give more information about your current system.
