Sure I am trying to Install the Xandros Linux without using an external cd/dvd only an external USB Drive. I tried using the instructions here instantfundas.com/2007/08/install-any-linux-distro-directly-from.html but when I boot directly from USB drive I get "Remove Disks or Other Media......." the USB drive is formated Fat32 as per the instructions. I've installed other Windows based system with ease via USB drive but this time I'm stumped.

Ok here's what I've got so far...not so bad....
1st. I used Windows vista's/7's bootsect /nt51 to give the USB drive a bootsector
2nd I copied ntldr to the usb drive
3rd I setup grub to use the following
kernel=(hd0,0)/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 rw acpi=on
initrd=(hd0,0)/boot/initrd.gz
then it boots it says
size=0x17b8b7
then it goes crazy fast then
something about couldn't mount /xan ( I couln't see it it went so fast then rebooted)
all in all I think I'm close.
I figure /xan stands for xandros which is what I am trying to install
Still stuck....Help Appreciated Thanks

Ok the good news: I have Xandros installed yeah me!
the bad news: it didn't find any of my network cards (wireless or ethernet)
short answer: can I install the driver for the Atheros Wireless Card (I have no idea what the model number is because Xandros doesn't even show it in the Hardware Detection module) or would this require re-compliling the Kernel yikes!
