Newbie - Delete files HELP Please

Hello all,
I have a usb stick that I ahve syslinux on but no kernel and I want to get some thing loaded so I can delete a direrctory... Can any one please assist me with getting this to work?

step 1> select Clean up option
step 2> script loads and deletes all files and goes back to syslinux or reboots

What distribution are you using?

This is what I normally do:

1. Open terminal.
2. Type "sudo nautilus"
3. <password>
4. That's a file browser in super user. Try to delete the file
