    Hello again!

You've been most helpful as this thread has moved between topics!

Card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.

I can get to the command line but don't know what to do at that point. I'm getting ready to re-install the OS as I didn't have it long enough to customize and it installs very quickly on my machine (<20 mins.)

If you are planning for fresh installation then make sure to install Nvidia Driver after successful installation.
You can install Nvidia Driver through System - Administration - Hardware Drivers option.

In case you want to fix problem of current installation, just reconfigure /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Thanks again!

Re-installed the OS in under 15 minutes. Updated the driver, re-booted, and all is well. It amazes me that this OS re-boots in 40 seconds...through the bios and manual log on to the desktop.

Now to customize using how to forge's guide to the perfect desktop
