Booting from USB
Ok not sure where to go with this so I went here.
Might be more of a general computer question but here goes...
When setting up Linux to boot from a USB will the computer recognize a media card as a USB boot device? Such as on one of my laptops (a Toshiba satellite with an SD card slot) When I select the boot option USB will it look in the SD slot if thee is nothing in the regular USB port?

Depends on Laptop/Netbook.
On my Asus EEEPC it recognizes SD boot card.
On My Acer Aspire One ZG5 which has a SD slot. I have to use a USB Adapter for SD Flash as the Acer Aspire One bios does not recognize the SD slot as a boot option but only the USB slots.Linux Registered User # 475019

If you want to boot from USB there isn't much involved. You do not have to go through all of the guides and how-tos that tell you how to set up a USB live CD. Just install to the USB memory and it will work.
Odd that a ZG5 won't boot from SD. I have the bigger AOD150 and it will boot from SD. Must be mine has a fancier bios.
