    Well, another approach would be to get a small prebuilt browser.
    Then look at the source code and learn from it. Modifiy it to your needs.

    Personally, if I were to write a webbrowser, my steps would be:
    1. Learn C
    2. Learn GNOME development, GNOME Library - Developers
    3. Learn how to use libcurl and Programing with GtkHTML

    I think you may even skip step 2 if you don't have special needs for the user interface.
    Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.
