You are talking about the TiVO tools? If so, you might want to ask on the user forums for the MFSlive distro: mfslive.org - Must Have Tools for TiVo upgraders
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Thought I Was
For some reason I thought I was posting to a thread about someone trying to use mfstools in ubuntu, as I was attempting the same project this past month.
I seem to have posted to the wrong site as I thought the thread had started last year.
For the most part it was a linux/ubuntu question as the mfstools works fine on it's own in a limited environment. The question then is how to get it to run in ubuntu and being a newbie and far gone from writing to a command prompt in dos any way I was posting to that.
I am trying to follow newbie instructions to either compile the source or install the program to run from a installed ubunu rather than a live cd.
I am perhaps trying to much at once as I have posted the same question in other venues as have others , tho I have never seen a detailed response from anyone who has done so.
Thank You For Your Response
