okay so it was getting ridiculos i originally had windows vista on my comp but i wanted linux so after a long tale of tragedy and trying to figure out how to get it to download i managed it. but then i realized a vital fact of life hard disk space is limited and operating systems take up alot of spce after weighng my options i decided to delete windows ubuntu was working fine what did i need to worry aboutt. well then i turned my comp off and when i turned it back on ten minutes later it showed this message.

this is not a bootable disk ... please isnert a bootable floppy disk my humle and long drawn out question is this. How do i fix my comp?

Do you have a LiveCD? Ubuntu perhaps? Stick it in the CD/DVD drive and fire it up. Post the output of this command please.
    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
Are you saying the you have Ubuntu and Windows installed already and now it won't boot after removing Windows? How did you remove Windows?

Right, but do you have a LiveCD you can use for the moment or download one? You need someway to boot the machine so we can find out what's going on.

So Windows was on the first partition and you just formatted that? Do you have Linux installed on the drive too? You probably removed the MBR and Grub....and that needs to be fixed.
