You clould try Clonezilla. You can also do this with the 'dd' command - just boot up from a live CD (i.e. make sure your system disk is offline) and do it from the command line. Clonezilla is easiest, though.

hi
thanks for reply, can you give me the exact steps to clone using dd comand and if done from clonezilla

No, if you're going to use dd, then read the man page - the exact parameters you need to give will depend on which interfaces your disks are attached to, and the size of the disks.
Clonezilla should be a bootup CD that lets you do all this in an intuitive and easy-to-learn way. But I've never used it - I've only heard and read good things about it.Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/

Hello and welcome!
Clonezilla has good documentation for using it on their website:
Clonezilla
I personally like using FSArchiver for my own needs, but I've also used Clonezilla plenty of times and they both work well.
Good luck with your cloning efforts.oz
