    centos clone /image

    Hi

    i have centos 5.3 , i want to clone or create image of my working servers having centos5.3 in another hardisk so that if my server down i can just put this another hardisk which having image or clone of the crash server and my server will up in small amount of time is it possible or not if yes then how

    You clould try Clonezilla. You can also do this with the 'dd' command - just boot up from a live CD (i.e. make sure your system disk is offline) and do it from the command line. Clonezilla is easiest, though.

    No, if you're going to use dd, then read the man page - the exact parameters you need to give will depend on which interfaces your disks are attached to, and the size of the disks.

    Clonezilla should be a bootup CD that lets you do all this in an intuitive and easy-to-learn way. But I've never used it - I've only heard and read good things about it.

    Clonezilla has good documentation for using it on their website:

    Clonezilla

    I personally like using FSArchiver for my own needs, but I've also used Clonezilla plenty of times and they both work well.
