In Linux, the floppy drive is called /dev/fd0. As far as I can remember, Puppy has a graphical mount tool with a list of available drives; you should be able to find fd0 on it.
Remember that you can't access any drive in Linux until it has been mounted on a directory. Your system is usually set up so that hard drive partitions are mounted at boot time, but floppy and optical drives you mount yourself."I'm just a little old lady; don't try to dazzle me with jargon!"
