repository manager and package manager don't work

Hello I have installed the latest version of Centos 5.5 on my machine and everything was fine until the other day when I went to use the package manager and repository manager to get some programs.

The message I received says this: "Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository c5.media. Please verify its path and try again. "

Please advise how to correct this situation so I can update and download other software. Thank you.

    Hello and Welcome.
Usually this message comes when you do not have an Internet connection or the repo is offline.

    Hello MikeTbob,

"Usually this message comes when you do not have an Internet connection or the repo is offline."

I do have an internet connection but still have this problem. I can surf the web and so on but to update or install new software I can not.

    Are you using a proxy?

EDIT: Try putting the CentOS CD/DVD in the drive and try again, see if that makes the error go away.

GLad you got it working. For future reference, somewhere in your settings there is a way to disable the CD as a Repo, once you disable it you will not need to insert the CD anymore.
