    Questions about apps for KDE/GNOME

1, If I install an application(supposed it supports KDE or GNOME desktop) in linux command-line, does it can function while I back to KDE desktop?

2, If I install an application(supposed it supports KDE only) in GNOME desktop, does it show me some error messages?

    Thank you!

If you have support built for both desktops you can run apps from either while in the other and they should perform the same giving you the same messages from the command like if you run them from there. You can run Konsole while in Gnome and gnome-volume-control while in KDE etc. as long as the libraries and dependencies are installed.
