Although Linux is excellent for a great number of things, running software designed for other operating systems is not one of them. World of Warcraft is a program that was meant to run on either Microsoft Windows or Apple's OS X. It will not run well on anything else.

Technically you can try running WoW on Linux using go-between software like Wine, which some people have had moderate success doing, but I would very highly recommend not running non-native software in Linux. It usually doesn't work well and you open yourself up to vulnerabilities of the non-native code.

To answer your original question, it really doesn't matter which version of Linux you try, WINE will work (or not work) just the same on all of them. If you're a fan of WoW and still have a Windows installation lying around, I'd recommend just sticking to playing it in Windows. You can always use Linux for everything else.

Don't know it it will help, but you might look at ultimate 2.8 gamers edition, available on distrowatch.com, it claims to have the ability to let you play windows games on linux.
