Distro Help
Ok, I have read the sticky and taken the quizzes, even installed ubuntu, mint, and fedora.
Aparantly I am still in need of help.
I am looking for a distro for an older (4+) years E-machine PC. All I really want it to do is play Netflix online, and movies I have stored to an external hard drive. Maybe some torrenting and VERY light document work.
I want it to be fast, and stable. Not bloated with all kinds of stuff I don't need like Ubuntu and mint, or crash like fedora every 20 mins.
Please help me forum friends, you are my only hope.

This might be a good choice. Light as a feather.

I really like Peppermint OS. It's based on Mint, but has less bloat and would work on an older system. Look it up on Distrowatch and read some reviews. You might even find another you like better while you're on Distrowatch.
As for Netflix, you won't watch it on a Linux computer. Hulu, CBS, and YouTube will work.

I second antiX; that is the first thing that came to mind
antiX would be my first choice. If you still want something Ubuntu-based, take a look at Easy Peasy. Peppermint OS is a good choice, too, but possibly overkill for what you are looking at. But if Puppy gets the job done, it'd be the lightest of the ones mentioned.
Still, if you do more than just watching movies, I still think that antiX is the highest quality among the distributions mentioned.

If you don't mind setting it up yourself, you could use Arch Linux. It gives you a very basic command line system, then you install all the packages that you want and need, so that it is completely tailored to your needs without any bloat.

Fedora is my favourite distro but puppy linux is probably best for old/slow machines.

Lubuntu would be a good choice for what you want, but if you go to distrowatch.com and search for older computers, it will give you a number of recommendations.
