    Netstat -a

I had a dream least night in which I was on my computer and I was typing the command Netstat -a in command prompt in Ms-Dos. And I was wondering why it looks so much like a Linux terminal command? This question persisted in my mind after I woke up. So what is the story about it?

    Thanks

Please correct me if I am wrong, but from memory:
    - msdos had no tcp/ip stack by default.
    - And the first serious one for windows was... "borrowed" from BSD
(completely ok as far as the license is concerned, but still feels a bit shallow)

It might be more exact to call netstat a unix tool.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.

    Yes, you are right.

MS-DOS/DOS is based on Unix after all.
