More than one Distro
Hi Guys, could anyone tell me if I can install more than one distro on my Multiple boot pc. I allready have, Mandriva, Win xp, and Win 7 on. But you know how it is, you want to try out all the linux systems if that is possible. I guess using a live cd would allow me to do it.
I do not want to bugger up the systems I already have on.
Cheers in advance.

Yes, you can multi-boot more than one linux. I have Ubuntu, Netbook remix, and lubuntu on my computer.

Sure you can. Here is a pretty good guide on setting it all up:

You may also be interested in virtualization if you'd like to test out different distributions. I recommended checking out VirtualBox. With VB, all you simply do is download the distribution ISOs and install them virtually. This will allow you to boot up all kinds of different operating systems right from a host operating system.
There are tons of guides out on the Internet for setting VirtualBox up.
I hope this helps. If you need help clarifying anything, don't hesitate to ask away.

Wow, Thanks Guys, I really mean it. I am an oldie but I just cannot stop having a go at trying out the diffferent distros. Haha, a famous quote just came to me then, " curiosity kiled the cat ". No , I appreciate both your comments and am looking forward to trying your suggestions out.
All the best

Yeah, running multiple distros is no problem. I prefer to either dual-boot or set up my multiple HDs.
- 03-28-2011 #6You can install as many distros as you like but I would suggest you to try LiveCDs instead of Hard disk installation. If you have latest machine or your Machine's specs are good, there will be only a slight performance difference in LiveCD and Hard disk install.

Thank you Devils Casper. I think that might be a better option for me as a Noob. I just tried to install Zenwalk and it went heads up. Too bad I wil start again. I take it with a pinch of salt as getting annoyed does not fix anything ,lol.
Cheers.

Devil, I just do not know enough about Linux yet to be able do things like that. Albeit, it is probably very easy indeed. So I have formatted my HD and started again, lol. I found that easier to do. I will not be putting Zenwalk on again, though. I think I will go back to either Unbuntu, Mandriva or Mint. Thanks once again.
