    /dev/sr0 and /dev/dvd

In my /dev directory I have /dev/sr0 and /dev/dvd. Which one represent my real DVD drive? Is there any difference between them? I've tried reading data from both /dev/sr0 and /dev/dvd and they both seem to read my actual DVD drive fine.

    What is /dev/sr0???

/dev/sr0 is the actual device node. /dev/dvd is more or less an alias, but a lot easier for mere mortals to figure out...
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
