iTunes Feature in Linux?
I've tried Linux (particularly Ubuntu and a bit of Debian) for about 3 months and loved it, except for one thing. In iTunes on Windows, there is an option to automatically down-convert my songs down to 128kbps AAC before copying them to my iPod. (The option is shown in the attached image). I do this since most of my songs are lossless/high bitrate MP3.
My question is, does any option like this exist in any Linux audio player?
Thanks,
Jordan

MP3 is not lossless. Myself, I keep my tunes in 192kbps mp3 format for my audio players, phone, etc. There are tools that can transcode them into 128kbps if you want, including AAC format.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Usually I convert these formats to mp3 using tools like these: Linux.com :: Audio conversion tools for Linux
I find that 192kbps mp3 is a good trade-off of quality vs. size.Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
