    OS for top java performance

Im currently running a home server which has the primary function of running 2 java based games. The server needs to have

    #1 Top JRE performance
    #2 Energy Efficiency

Im not sure how reliable but Ive done some benchmarks of general linux distro compared to windows using v8.googlecode.com/svn/data/benchmarks/v6/run.html and windows flat out has double / triple the score.

Now I do have experience with linux - Debian / *buntu / Fedora etc but I did also read how java is supposed to have identical performance on any OS?

Right now the server is running on Fedora 15 but I'm planning on moving to Scientific Linux 6.0 but is java performance really that much worse compared to windows?

If you can, Please consider the environment/computer that you are performing these tests on and google "java performance .." to pull up some tools and stats. Then let us know what you are able to accomplish/achieve in a true apples to apples test.
