    I probably can't help you even if I knew more details, but I'll bet others here could. Help them help you:

    What is your Linux distro/version?

    What desktop are you using?

    What have you tried?

    Post your xorg.conf if you have one and have modified it.

    I haven't changed xorg.conf or tried anything else.

    I just want clone mode to work.

    The laptop and the monitor is not the same format (one is about 4 x 3, the other probably 16 x 9).

    This is how far I've got:

    screens.zip results in monitor having bright green screen.

    screens2.zip does not work, as shown in the 4 screen shots in the next post.
