Midi Software
I provide the music for my church, which is done through using midis through a computer that several of us put together about 10 years ago. Between the midis and MP3 files that congregation is very happy.
Besides changing one of my computers at home over to Linux, been thinking about switching the music computer at church over to the Linux format. My main reason is that I am (and always have been) a little worried that someone will come along when I am not around and end up putting a virus onto it, deleting stuff that is needed, etc.
The software that we use is Cakewalk, which is a great program. Because not all midis and hymns are not done the same throughout religion when it comes to the number of verses. Because of it some midis have a very short intro to them and not enough verses, I find that I need to loop back, but not use the intro. With Cakewalk I can put a loop in that will allow me to automatically loop back and replay from a certain point.
What are midi software would you recommend that would work for us?

Hello and welcome aboard!

I don't know anything about cakewalk and haven't worked with midi files in some time, but you can find some audio/media players that might work for you here:
Audio/CD Players | Linux App Finder
If you should find something that you want to try, be sure to install it using the package tool that comes with your distribution rather than installing it from source.
Best of luck to you with your project.oz

Better link:
midi | Linux App Finder
The kind of loop you want is easy to make in MusE.
