    Migrating cobol programs from HP UX to Redhat Linux v5 (db is Oracle)


    Hi,

    We are migrating cobol programs from HP UNIX platform to Readhat linux V5 pltform.

    Please let me know whether there would be compilation issues dur to change in the platform or will the cobol programs would work somoothly without issues.

    Any link in this direction is highly appreciated.

    What compiler are you using? There are several open source cobol implementations for Linux, but since this appears to be a business application, I would recommend something like micro-focus cobol ( Application Modernization and Management - Micro Focus ) for Linux. Here is a link to their "Server Express" product which may work for you (it works w/ Suse and RHEL operating systems): Net Express Server Express
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
