I installed conky yesterday, everything was fine, except I was puzzled with cpu_avg_samples and net_avg_samples, what values should be used if my update_inteval was 5 seconds?

All those items in conky man page are explained as "The number of samples to average for ...". But I couldn't find where the samples come from. I then googled and found tons of conky scripts, not the answer.
