    Turn on HDMI Sound Via Terminal


    Hi All,

    Just need to figure out how to switch my laptop to HDMI out using terminal. Any help greatly appreciated, trying to make a script that does a few things including the audio out. Thanks again
    Bodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17
    Dell Studio 17, Intel Graphics card, 4 gigs of RAM, E17

    I don't know if the HDMI output will show up as a separate sound card or not. If it is treated as such, then you should be able to switch using the text-based alsamixer tool. F6 will let you select the sound card for output.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
