Broadband connection timing out on rp-pppoe

Hi all,
I have a system running Crunchbang linux and I have been using rp-pppoe as of late.However,recently,I am facing this problem that I am not able to connect to the internet on that computer because it is repeatedly timing out.Could anyone help me on this?Also,could they please kindly tell me which log files to look up?

Check /var/log/messages or perhaps under /var/log/ppp. All of my pppd messages go into /var/log/messages.
