Which OS version for basic server?
Hello,
I am building a small enterprise solution with a server with not more than 5 or 6 clients. Most of the server job will be to prevent from database access/conflicts between users and events dispatching between users. It consists on a Java application.
I am looking for the simplest and lightest Linux version for this server as my Java application and MySQL will be the only application running on it. Ubuntu for example seems to integrate too much useless features for me, but I need at least a GUI version.
Any suggestion? Thanks in advanced!

Just an idea... MineOS CRUX is already set up with MYSQL and Java and is extremely small and easy on resources. MineOS CRUX is made specifically for running as a MineCraft server but it would be simple to disable it. Warning though: Don't try this unless you already have Linux command line experience. You'll have to configure everything from the command line as there is no "GUI." The trade off is, a super fast and light server that will run on almost any standard hardware. If GUI is that necessary, then I'd go with a minimal install of straight Debian.
