Very small, minimal command line only
I have a 128mb memory stick and I would like to keep it to boot from and perform secure erase on hard drives using hdparm.
I only need a command line and the ability to run the hdparm commands.
I have done lots of searching and although I have found a few small distros they all have window managers, internet browsers etc... I just want a command line! Nothing else!
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you!

Most will let you install command-line only - no GUI. Sometimes this is the "server" version of whatever distribution you are installing. Examples are Ubuntu "Server" edition, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (and clones such as CentOS or Scientific Linux), Gentoo, etc.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!

Slackware, CRUX, Gentoo and Debian all are great when you look for minimal.

You could even look at TTY Linux or MicroCore (CLI version of Tinycore) Linux. Slackware will give you as much or, in your case, as little as you require.
Having said this, Debian is usually a starting point for me.
