Hello and welcome to the forums!

I'd personally recommend trying both, then making up your own mind about which you like best. Both are free to download and try, so all that you will lose is some of your time and a few blank disks, but you'll be learning some new things about Linux along the way so the time is well spent, and only the blank disks are all that's really lost.

Good luck to you, and don't hesitate to start new threads with the details should you have any problems with your new Linux installations.

    Hello and Welcome!

Both are fairly easy to use for new Linux users, although Fedora doesn't include as many multimedia plugins with a default installation.
My suggestion would be yo try both of them. Both Mint and Fedora offer a LiveCD, so that you can test the look and feel of it without messing with your currently installed system.

Kind of like asking if chocolate or vanilla is the best ice cream, it depends on your taste.

Keep playing around with different distros. Then play with all the other options!
    That's why I like chocolate-chunk cookie dough!
