    Question fedora16 and fuduntu

1st off sorry for bugging everybody on asking a bunch of newbie questions. im a windows user and trying to get used to using different Linux distros that i like. and so far according to other different forums i belong too i must be a fool to try to run multiple distros instead of just using one. but anyway the problem i have is i had fedora and fuduntu installed and i added a ITE IT8212 ATA 133 PCI card. i had to reinstall fedora and i noticed it wont install and fuduntu is still installed but will go to log in and hangs up like fedora. so any suggestions on why they wont start up and or install any help is greatly appreciate it.

    Sounds like that

is the crux of your problem. Remove the card and try

fuduntu is still installed but will go to log in and hangs up like fedora
Not sure where your hardware install went wrong though. Might be a bios irq conflict.

You could also try plugging it in to a different slot if one is available, otherwise check your bios for any IRQ conflicts.

There is nothing wrong with trying many different distros because:

    a) It's fun
    b) It helps you learn
    c) How else will you find out if like another one better than the one you are currently using.
    d) All of the above.

Here on LFO, there are many members who try out lots of distros. We are called "distrosluts". Come join us. It's adictive

well i must be a early distroslut then lol im running 14 different distros + windows xp.... and for the help with the problem i had i went to my bios and everything looked ok from what i could tell so i tried the slot i had my sound card in and it all worked out i think my sound card and that card was messing up the fedora based distros cause fuduntu loaded and fedora reinstalled with no problems. so thanks for the help with this.
