    sound devices removed

A while ago I got my sound to work with youtube and somewhere along the line I lost it. I was trying all sorts of things and really don't have a clue what I did to screw it up even worse. Now it says that my sound devices have been removed. KDE notifies me of the crash.

Hmmm... Well, if were me, I'd backup any data I needed and then reinstall the system. What distribution+version of LInux are you running?

When this sort of thing happens to me (I run Red Hat distributions) I just tell the package manager (yum) to reinstall everything, and then reboot. If that doesn't work, then it is time to do a fresh install. However, I expect that if you tell apt-get to reinstall everything, you may be ok (we hope) ...
