    Permissions denied

    Hello there,

    I am experiencing a permission issue.

    My /var/ww is recursively set to 774. The default setting is root owner and root group. I have not changed this.

    When I do:

    Code:
    $ groups username
    username: root adm dialout cdrom plugdev lpadmin sambashare admin
    The first group to be listed in root. This tells me that 'username' is part of group. Right?

    Well. Whenever I try and do anything over ftp I get permissions error.

    Whilst logged in on the computer where the server is running, I try and cd into www directory, I get permissions error.

    What is going on?

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Marius
